Wikipedia artikel over het gezegde "What would Jesus do?" ("WWJD"):
In His Steps: What Would Jesus Do?".

Wherefore I [Paul] beseech you, be ye followers of me.
For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Be ye followers of me [Paul], even as I also am of Christ.
Brethren, be followers together of me...
En Paul zag de Heer Jezus Christus als laatste:
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,
Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)
... the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

"What would Jesus do" moet dan ook zijn "What did Paul do?":
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me [Paul], do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
